Introduction

Follow Button adds a Follow control next to a topic, team, author or section. Readers click once to follow, and click again to unfollow.

What readers choose to follow is some of the clearest first-party data you can have. It is saved to their profile, ready to use in segments, recommendations and newsletters.

Features

1One-click follow
A clear Follow and Unfollow state that readers understand immediately.
2Saved to the profile
Each topic uses its own Yes/No field on the reader's profile, so you can build segments from it.
3Sign-up built in
Readers who are not signed in are asked to register, turning interest into a known reader.
4Any topic
Use it for teams, authors, sections, series or any subject you publish about.

Use cases

  • Let fans follow their team, league or driver.
  • Build interest segments from followed topics.
  • Turn follows into newsletter or notification audiences.

How it works

Choose the profile field that stores the follow, create the Follow Button experience in the UniSignIn dashboard, and place the button next to the topic.
