AI Question & Answer

Overview

AI Question & Answer shows suggested questions about the article on your article pages. When a reader clicks a question, a chat opens with the answer, and the reader can keep asking.

The questions are written for each article automatically. You don't have to do anything per article.

Before you start

AI Question & Answer needs Transfon Studio connected for the site:

  1. Go to Connect → Transfon Studio.
  2. Turn on Enable and Enable AI QA.

Transfon Studio picks up your articles as readers view them. Your article pages need the usual article meta tags, such as the article type, image and published time. See Transfon Studio.

Set up

  1. Go to Audience Operation → Experience and click New Experience.
  2. Pick AI Question & Answer, then click Next Step.
  3. Enter a Name, choose the Project and turn on Enable.
  4. Fill in the settings:
    • Title of the AI Question & Answer: the heading above the questions.
    • CSS Selector to Insert AI Question & Answer: only if you place the questions without changing your site, see below. Otherwise leave it empty.
    • Amount of Questions: how many questions to show for each article.
  5. Click Save Changes.

Put it on your pages

There are two ways to place the questions. Use one of them on a page, not both, or the page shows two boxes.

Add a placeholder to your template

Place the placeholder in your article template where the questions should appear, and replace EXPERIENCE_ID with the ID of your experience:

<div data-exp="unis-ai-qa" data-exp-id="EXPERIENCE_ID"></div>

Leave CSS Selector to Insert AI Question & Answer empty.

Place it without changing your site

  1. Set CSS Selector to Insert AI Question & Answer, for example h1 to show the questions under the headline. The box is added right after each element that matches.
  2. Add the experience to an Orchestration that targets your article pages. See Orchestration.

Which page the questions are about

The questions are for the page's canonical URL. If the page has no canonical URL, its og:url is used, and then the page address. Make sure the canonical URL of each article points to the article itself.
