Notifications
Overview
Notifications add a bell icon to your site. The bell shows how many unread notifications a reader has, and opens a panel with the latest ones. Use it for site news, new features, event reminders or links to important stories.
Set up
- Go to
Features→Notification. - Find your project and click
Notifications. - Click
New Notificationand fill in:
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Title | The headline of the notification. |
| URL | Where the notification links to. |
| Image URL | An optional image shown with the notification. |
| Content | A short text under the title. |
- Click
Save Changes. The notification shows to readers on that project's site.
Manage
The project's notification list shows each notification with its title and created time. Click Edit to change one, or Remove to take it down.
Readers can clear notifications they have read, and the unread count drops as they open them.
Put it on your pages
Place the container where the bell should appear, usually in your site header next to the sign-in button:
