Audience Overview

Overview

The Audience Overview in Audience Operation → Overview shows who your readers are, how engaged they are, and how many of them reach your goal: registration, email subscription or a paid subscription. It covers the last 30 days and compares with the 30 days before.

Filter the page by site, country and device. Most sections have a Create segment button that opens the segment editor with the matching rules.

Bots are excluded, and so are visitors without consent where GDPR applies.

Funnel and goal

The top cards show readers, returning readers (2+ active days), loyal readers (12+ active days), registered users, and when you use them, email subscribers and paying subscribers.

Click the Registered, Email subscribers or Paying subscribers card to make it the goal of the page. The goal is highlighted in the breakdown and used for the interest rates below. Email subscribers appears when you use an Email Subscription Experience or mark a field as Email subscription status, and paying subscribers when you have a subscription plan.

Engagement ladder

Readers by active days: one-off (1 day), returning (2–4), regular (5–11) and loyal (12+), split into anonymous and registered. Loyal readers who are still anonymous are the best registration prospects.

Experience exposure

For each engagement level: the share of readers shown an Experience, how many were never shown one, views per person and click rate. Use it to find readers you never ask, and readers you ask too often.

Opportunities

Ready-made audiences with a count:

  • Loyal readers not registered
  • Clicked but not registered: anonymous readers who clicked an Experience
  • Lapsing loyal readers: active on 5+ days, not seen for 7+ days
  • Unverified signups: registered, email not verified
  • Engaged users without email (with email subscriptions)
  • Engaged users not paying, Renewals due in 30 days and Cancelled subscribers (with subscription plans)

Audience breakdown

Readers by country, device, site or channel (direct, search, social, referral), with the share that is returning, loyal and registered, and the number of email and paying subscribers.

Interests

The top categories, keywords, authors and referrers, with how many readers each has and the share of them that reached the goal compared with the average reader, e.g. 18% · 2.1×. Values that convert 1.5× better than average are highlighted.

Conversions

Sign-ups, email subscriptions and paid subscriptions of the last weeks, with:

  • how many converters read your sites before, and for how long
  • their site, first referrer and the categories they read
  • Last clicked experience: the Experience clicked most recently before converting

To attribute sign-ups to an Experience, use the tracked sign up link in the Experience content.
